How does Lucy know I am leaving on a jet plane?

I am leaving for a week to go and see my parents, cousins and Aunt. I am meeting up with my sis in San Diego. Joe is not going and Lucy knows that too.

Got up like any other morning. Showered and dressed. Packed a final few things. Put Lucy in her kennel before leaving just like I normally do. Usually, she just lays down quietly and settles in. But not this morning! This morning, she started to bark. And bark. And bark. The dead do not want to be awakened at 4:45 in the morning. Therefore, we decided to let her ride with us to the airport. Joe clicked a leash on her collar, grabbed the handle of my suitcase, and proceeded to walk ahead of me to the car.

Lucy turned around, looked at me and then started to pull on her leash as she tried to backtrack to be right by my side.

Usually, she’s a daddy’s girl. Her daddy spoils her a lot. It amazes me how smart and intuitive she is. I have never owned a dog with so much brain power before. I hope she is a good girl while I am gone.

See you in a week!
